hey from Alaska

Hello everyone,
I have been home for about 2 weeks now and getting itchy to leave because it really wants to snow here!!!

Life is good , My family and friends are all well and I think my Computer is back in working order . It is not sending off notes about me being stuck in Spain or being a salesman for Viagra.(cross my fingers)
Anyway all in all the trip to Cambodia was great and I have been missing the spot. Apparently they got the big boat going and it is now out on the lake taking the team to spots much faster than the previous one did.

Next stop , back to Haiti in a few weeks. Don't worry I'll wash my hands b4 we shake hands again the future. Apparently thay are having a bit of a problem with Cholera these days.
Some folks have all the luck , don't they??? A few of the 1500 plus leftover photos from cambodia trip...be well...jerry

Hi folks, Just got back from last lake trip

Someone hacked my hotmail address list and said I need money in Spain

If any one has an old e=mail from me with about 50 names please forward a note to them to this effect

I am flying home to Alaska this PM so save your pennies and send them to the lake clinic here in Cambodia.

More photos to follow after I get home stay tuned love, jerry

Monday mornin;again

Hi kids,

Hope all is well in USA
This is my final week here and then head home on Friday nite

One of the saddest things I learned about during this trip ws that some areas between Thailand and Cambodia are still loadded with live mine fields from old wars. Recently-last week, some dude were just imprisoned for doing the same thing around Phnom Penh Some folks sure don't care for government intervention.
THey frequently treat kids at Angkor Hospital for Children for amputations due to these mines....really sucks,HUH??????..Not sure about future WiFi access from here.

Be well....jerry n.

Just thinkin' & typin'

Sitting here in an AC cooled yuppie coffee shop and wondering about life etc.,

I know u have heard this from me before so you probably know what I will talk about.

It costs $400.00 to go to University here and most of the young 20-30 year olds I have met can not afford it so they work part time and study par time. Now I believe that working to go to school is a good idea But 40 kids here could go to school for a year rather than one student at the WAMI medcal program in Alaska. This country could use the 40 college graduates more than the US could use the dcctor but a lot depends upon what spot on the planet we are born as to how are lives turn out.

Not sure what I am trying to say except that life is CRAZY sometmes, you Know???
Not sending many photos of buildings and temples this time. Would raTHER SEND THE KID PICS and maybe you will sponsor a studet to college or a viist to a doctor or a midwife for a PG mom..........love....nase

Dressed to Kill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This lady got dolled up to come see me.
Most of these kids prob. don't own a dress !!!!

Kiss youur grandkids and nieces & nephews and kids if u got 'em

Monday evenong around 6:00 PM

Hi people,
I have been relaxing the past few days at a great spot but the weather has been overcast and damp.
Plan to go back home(Siem Reap) tomorrow.
As I said b4 this is PÇhum Ban or Ancestors week so there is no clinic this week Everyone either goes to be with Family or the service people work at jobs in restaurants, etc.,
I plan on another long bus trip (10 hours or so) and then plan to see a little more of the temples at Angkor Wat, if possible.
Hope all is well in your little corner of the world...jerry

Getting away for a short R & R

Hi folks,

Writing this from a desk top pc with a fast modem.

This week is Ancestors week here in Cambodia. Seems like much of the country takes the week off and goes to their home in the countryside to be with parents and take food to the monks in the Buddhist Temples around the country. This country is 90-95 % Buddhist with the rest being Hinduism, animism and christians.
It is a lot like Chinese New Year when that entire country goes on holiday in February every year.

So I decided to get on a bus and travel around Cambodia. Took a 11 hour drive yesterday to the Southwest coast area- a town called Sihanoukville. It is a beach -like rsort area that mostly tourists visit-not Cambodians.
I am staying in a fancy 4 star hotel for $100.00 A NIGHT-ABOUT the same as a night in Miami at the Red Roof INN when I go to Haiti and St.Lucia. The town appears to be foreign tourists mainly from all over Cambodia, Southeast Asia and parts unknown.

Lots of bars and restaurants.
Sorry about my inability to send pictures sometimes and all you get are Headings. Usually the internet or the WiFi in Siem Reap go crazy and then I follow. No pictures here because they are all on my laptop.
I sat down the other night and wrote a rant on my Microsoft Word offline page. If anyone knows how to transfer that to this website or my hotmail account please let me know here or at jerrynase@hotmail.com I would really apptreciate it so I don't have to type it all over again. It is Sunday morning here at about 10:30 am and I am going to check out the beach and probably head into town to see what is going on there.
I will probably stay her for Sunday and Monday night and then head back to Siem reap by bus on Tuesday. NO clinic this week. next week will be my last lake trip and then head for home on the 15th of October. This has been a great trip so far and I am certainly been very lucky to meet so many nice people here(mainly the staff at The Lake Clinic.
I would definitely return here if my old bones will carry me.
Will attempt some more pics later in the week either on this blog or Hotmail account
